Watershed Development, LLC opened its doors in 2000 as a speculative real estate company specializing in developing, designing and constructing homes. The Watershed Development Team believes that Atlanta's new construction should reflect the styles that have historically been used in the intown neighborhoods. To this end, our projects incorporate period detailing, while they are also designed to meet the needs and lifestyles of today's market. This integrated approach and attention to detail, from design through construction, have resulted in a superior product and critical acclaim.
The Watershed Development Team continues with that mission today, creating projects that foster an improved quality of life and community for all Atlantans. We believe, that as cities such as Atlanta continue to experience explosive growth, we must not only structure suburban sprawl, but also increase the density of existing urban areas. We embrace the re-urbanization of the American City, focusing our attention on "in-town" neighborhoods such as Ansley Park, Morningside, Candler Park, Grant Park and Old Fourth Ward. By concentrating on infill development within the traditional neighborhood fabric of Atlanta, the Watershed Development Team hopes to shape new, smart, conscientious growth in Atlanta, and in doing so, provide a richer living environment for its citizens.
Rick Blanchard, President
Rick Blanchard, a native of Atlanta, has ten years of practical Architectural experience, coupled with eight years of General Contracting experience, placing him in the unique position of having worked on both sides of the design/construction fence. As a designer with a local Atlanta architectural firm and later as the founder and head of a design/build firm, Rick was responsible for all aspects of design on numerous large-scale residential projects throughout Atlanta. On the construction side, in his three years as a senior project manager for an Atlanta general contractor, Rick oversaw the construction of approximately $20,000,000 of commercial projects throughout the Southeast.
In addition to his leadership role with the company, Rick is responsible for the design of each Watershed Project. The result is that no two projects are the same. Each home is uniquely designed to its specific site and context, including views, orientation and architectural style.
